WOLFFKRAN has carved a niche for itself in the crane construction market by accentuating cost-effectiveness and sustainability and an improved product line. Now with a more efficient tower system, two brand-new luffing cranes and a high-performance trolley jib crane, the manufacturer is set to assert itself again as a leader at bauma.

At this year’s show, Wolffkran will present its innovations ranging from compact to extra-large cranes, suitable for every construction site under the motto ‘All you need is … Wolff’.
In the spotlight will be two new luffing cranes – the Wolff 630 B and 700 B – with a maximum load capacity of 42 tonnes and 50 tonnes, which complete the luffing crane series in the intermediate to upper load moment class.
“The compact and light crane components with the innovative Wolff design are particularly advantageous in terms of transportation and assembly for luffing cranes,” says a spokesman for the company. “This is confirmed by the strongest and biggest Wolff luffing crane, the Big Wolff (Wolff 1250 B), which entered the market last year.“

The 700 B ... maximum load at maximum heights.

At bauma, Wolffkran aims to cover the intermediate to upper load moment class to complement the Wolff 355 B and the Wolff 1250 B. “We are proud, that today we are able to offer the most suitable slewing tower crane for every construction site, anywhere in the world, as well as cost-effective solutions for transportation”, says Dr Peter Schiefer, managing partner of Wolffkran.
In the outdoor area, the Wolff 700 B will be on show erected with the new tower system 23.
“The efficient and sustainable 2.3 m tower system stands out due to its free-standing tower heights for cranes up to the 700-tonne range. To complement this there is new removable climbing gear – KWH 23 – as well as the variable crossframe KR 12-60/80. Almost all the components are suitable for containers, thus providing an economic solution for transportation,” says the spokesman.
The new product range is completed with the trolley jib crane Wolff 8033cross. In the development of this high-performance 450-tonne crane with tower top (Cross Line), special attention was given to very low system heights and low individual weights of the main components, which makes for substantial economic advantages with regard to assembly and transportation, he says.

The new tower system 23 ... compact and easily transported.

Tower system 23
With overall measurements of 2.3 m, the new tower system 23 is compact and can be transported economically in standard containers. It was optimised for the Wolff 630 B and Wolff 700 B, and will be launched along with these two new Wolff luffing cranes.
Te new tower system supersedes the Wolff tower system 25 with its dimensions of 2.5 m though its performance range remains the same as its predecessor, says spokesman. “One reason is that for the first time specific high-strength steels are partially implemented in the construction of this tower system so as to increase the performance and to extend the serviceable lifespan of the tower element,” he says.
Tower system 23 consists of four different high-performance tower elements – the TV 23, the HT 23, the BT 23 – and the corresponding connecting element HTA 23. Free-standing tower heights of 54 m can be attained in combination with the HT 23/ BT 23 used with the Wolff 700 B.

Luffing cranes
The new luffing cranes from the 630- and 700-tonne range that will be presented at bauma, supersede the Wolff 500 B, displaying considerably lighter individual weights in comparison with their predecessor.
Wolffkran’s pioneering innovation in luffing crane technology, the Wolff 355 B – launched at bauma 2007 – can be transported easily and economically and erected extremely fast, considering its size, says the spokesman. The biggest luffing crane from the Wolff series followed in 2009 – the Wolff 1250 B, a red giant in the 1,500-tonne class.
“The new luffing cranes Wolff 630 B and Wolff 700 B have taken their place between the Wolff 355 B and the Wolff 1250 B, expediently and appropriately completing the luffing crane product line in the intermediate and upper load moment class,” says the spokesman. “Both cranes are based on the same constructive platform.”
The larger model, the new Wolff 700 B will be on display at the bauma.
The Wolff 630 B and Wolff 700 B are top-slewing luffing cranes with a maximum load moment of 800 tonnes and can be erected in fixed position on a crossframe, or alternatively, with foundation anchors. Unique for luffing cranes of this size is the connection for the new 2.3 m tower system from Wolffkran.
The new luffing cranes are particularly suitable for use in power stations, industrial plants, in the erection of cooling towers or on construction sites where large prefabricated parts are being lifted.
