POLYURETHANE insulation, made of a mixture of polyyol and isocyanate, is considered the best among thermal insulation products, states Sandwich Panel Factory (SPF), a leading producer of the polyurethane insulation panels.

This is why the company has opted to use polyurethane foam in its insulation panels, says a spokesman for the Jeddah-based company.
An environment-friendly product, polyurethane insulation minimises the heat flow from the external to the internal environment, reducing the energy required to maintain a suitable indoor temperature.

Elaborating on the benefits of polyurethane foam, the spokesman says: “It is safe because it doesn’t emit gases or impurities, doesn’t rot or mould, isn’t radioactive, and resists water and humidity ingression, in addition to being fire resistant.
“All these properties make our foam insulation panels economical for commercial, residential and industrial projects.”
SPF produces high-quality insulation panels in variable thicknesses and sizes at its automatic production plant in Jeddah, which has a capacity of 1 million sq m. Its factory is equipped with several moulding presses for the production of panels with a camlock system. Despite being thin, SPF’s panels equal and sometimes exceed the insulation capabilities of similar materials of greater thickness, the spokesman claims.
The interior and exterior surfaces of these panels are coated with special paints, which are resistant to corrosion and humidity and don’t need a further finish.
SPF insulation panels are designed for rooms, cold stores, prefabricated houses and residential compounds and have found application in hangars, cold stores, power plants, fuel plant, poultry farms, slaughterhouses, stores for grains and dates.
Established in 1999, SPF currently produces 3,000 sq m of polyurethane panels per day and has the capacity to manufacture up to 1 million sq m per year.
Being located in Jeddah, the company enjoys good sea and land links to various parts of the region.
