Aesthetically appealing ... RAK Ceramics’ new lines.

RAK Ceramics, a leading ceramic and sanitary ware manufacturer in the Middle East, has launched several new models in tiles and sanitary ware as part of its commitment to offer its customers the latest products on a regular basis.

Some of its recent launches include the Luxor, Trevi, Covex, Pallino and Ethno Chic series in Gres Porcellanato as well as metallic-look models such as Oxyde. In the ceramic tiles segment, RAK Ceramics has come up with high-quality models such as Silk of India, Wales, Artemis and Damasco and an entire range in its Premium Collection comprising of many models.
Besides tiles, it has launched recently many new sets in sanitary ware to cater to the local and international needs. The company has also diversified into the manufacture state-of-the-art faucets and mixers for bathrooms and kitchens, in collaboration with the Germany-based Kludi. The joint venture will have a modern manufacturing set-up spread over 2 million sq m in Ras Al Khaimah, close to the company’s manufacturing complex. The facility will manufacture around one million pieces a year of exclusive bathroom fittings, utilising manufacturing synergies between the two organisations that have excelled in their respective fields. The range will comprise several luxury bathroom and kitchen fittings including mixers, showers, drainage fittings and related accessories.
RAK Ceramics is today a frontrunner in the ceramic industry and boasts current worldwide sales of over $500 million, with its Ras Al Khaimah operations having notched sales of Dh1.64 billion ($446.8 million) last year.
“Over the past 16 years, RAK Ceramics has created the largest and most exclusive product lines in the ceramic world with new styles offered every month, appealing to all market segments, such as interior designers and architects, engineers, major retail chains, corporates, do-it-yourself retailers and home owners,” says Dr Khater Massaad, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah-based company.
Some of its latest products were displayed at the Big 5 show last November, including its new models in Gres Porcellanato tiles such as the Lounge and Paradox, Rivage, Loft and the Cronos Series as well as new sizes such as 50 by 100 inches slabs, says a company spokesperson.
“We also displayed our latest tiles and sanitary ware suites which included the Empire, Metropolitan, Reserva, Rondo, Shino, Mistral, Venus and Arcadia – many of which are also available in wall-hung types as well. New bathtubs that have joined the RAK Ceramics portfolio are the Metropolitan and Reserva bathtubs while the company has also boosted the choice it offers in new bathroom furniture and mirrors as well as special toilets for the disabled.
RAK Ceramics was awarded the prestigious Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award for Industry in 2005 and the brand has also been rated as one of the UAE’s top four and the topmost in the manufacturing sector in 2006 in a study recently conducted by UK-based Brand Finance Middle East, he says.
The company stands committed to retain its position as a top-level player in terms of sales in the coming years and is now rated as the top international force in the ceramic tiles field, says Dinesh Bandiwadekar, marketing senior manager of RAK Ceramics. “We are confident of improving our reach and volume, though it is a very competitive market everywhere we operate, but we are steadily reaching that stage wherein the most respected buyers in most developed countries are now vouching for our designs and quality.”
