The Kale Group, which claims to have been the fastest-growing ceramics manufacturer worldwide over the last five years, has recently introduced a number of innovative products on the market while boosting its presence in the region with a new showroom in Dubai.
The group has continued to grow from strength to strength, with sales to over 65 countries around the world and has an annual ceramic production capacity of 62 million sq m – which is expanding further.
As an important overseas investment, the Kale Group recently opened a 400 sq m showroom in Dubai, which serves as the sole distributor of its famous Çanakkale Seramik and Kalebodur brands as well as the Caren brand in the tile industry. The company, however, has already managed to entrench itself in the market with a number of prestigious projects in the UAE to its credit, including Jumeirah Beach Residence, Business Bay, Arabian Ranches (Al Saheel, Al Saheel extension, Gazella Townhouses and Al Reem) and Dubai Marina Towers.
With innovation being a watchword in the industry and to stay ahead of the competition, the Kale Group has introduced a number of products such as Kalestone, Kalewood, Enigma and the Ethnic series which boast several distinctive features.
Kalestone and Kalewood
Kale Group is one of the few companies worldwide – and the first in Turkey – to own the twin-press technology and is using this technology to produce the Kalestone and Kalewood ranges.
This technology enables in the Çanakkale Seramik and Kalebodur factories to attain natural textures – the closest to natural stone – that would not be possible with standard ceramic technology in the production of Kalestone, says a spokesman for the group.
“Kalestone is an exciting product for building architects who want to achieve a natural texture effect in building interiors and exteriors. This range comprises nine colour varieties and three different surfaces. Its compatible modular dimensions – 30 cm by 30 cm, 30 cm by 60 cm, 60 cm by 60 cm and 60 cm by 120 cm – guarantee a rich design and diverse finish possibilities to building architects,” he adds.
The spokesman continues: “The tree-like porcelain tile patterns of the Kalewood series replicate the textures of tree trunks, featuring a variety of natural wood colours such as walnut, teak and beech, thus helping to visually transform interior spaces into indoor forests.”
This series is available in the various dimensions including 30 cm by 120 cm, 20 cm by 120 cm, 10 cm by 120 cm, 50 cm by 60 cm and 10 cm by 60 cm.
Enigma
Enigma is a full-bodied porcelain ceramic tile range that reflects natural volcanic stone colours. It is available as a wall tile series in sizes of 30 cm by 60 cm and 60 cm by 60 cm, complemented by 30 cm by 60 cm full decor and 15 cm by 60 cm borders. The series can be completed with elegant additional pieces featuring a natural platinum effect and gold imprinted borders.
Ethnic
The Ethnic floor tile series is produced as a glazed porcelain tile and has a six natural colour options reminiscent of sand, lava, clay and other such materials.
“Ethnic brings with it the soft touch of leather to the hard world of ceramics,” he says. “It uses soft organic textures associated with leather and organic-looking patterns.”
Environmentally-friendly technology is used is used production of this series that comes in 50 cm by 50 cm sizes and a polished surface option.
Kalesinterflex
Kaleseramik last year claimed the distinction of having produced the world’s “thinnest and largest dimensional” ceramic tile when it launched Kalesinterflex.
“Kalesinterflex is one of the most exciting and innovative building materials created in recent years, and not just in the field of ceramic-based materials. Produced with patented technology in a custom-built factory, Kalesinterflex presents a universe of new construction and design possibilities for the innovative architect,” says the spokesman. “The product of new-generation technology for flexible, new age architecture, Kalesinterflex is not only design-friendly – the technology used for its production is environmentally friendly as well.”
The Kale Group has utilised its 50 years of experience in the field, combining its innovative technology, research and trend-setting skills to produce Kalesinterflex, which helps to create aesthetically-appealing modern living spaces and gives flexibility in implementing new ideas in design.
The product boasts a host of advantages including light weight, flexibility, durability and easy workability. Produced in 100 cm by 300 cm format, it can be applied in these large dimensions or cut to smaller sizes. The thickness of each slab is only 3 mm, which allows for design and application advantages. The flexibility radius of a Kalesinterflex slab with dimensions of 1,000 mm by 3,000 mm is 5.5 m.
“The product uses organic-looking ceramic applications that match the durability of traditional ceramic surfaces. The weight of one square metre block is only seven kilos which, combined with the exceptional thinness of the product, allows for better portability, easier storage and quicker application. This material is a welcome breakthrough for building contractors and architects alike,” he adds.
Rainbow Plus
The group is also among the few manufacturers worldwide that can offer an extensive range of 71 different colour options, through its Rainbow Plus system. Rainbow Plus, which derives its colour codes from the RAL-Design System, is offered under the Canakkale Seramik and Kalebodur brands in a wide range of modular sizes, including 2.5 cm by 2.5 cm, 5 cm by 5 cm, 10 cm by 10 cm, 20 cm by 20 cm, 10 cm by 20 cm, 10 cm by 30 cm and 30 cm by 30 cm.
“Rainbow Plus is the only application system that can offer decorative solutions according to customer specifications. These customised solutions also provide for a rich product line, including special modules such as those for corners and edges, allowing the overall design to perfectly match the ambience.
“The system has anti-bacterial and easy-clean attributes as options. The easy clean option enables water to flow off more easily from the surface of the tile, which helps increase the durability of the product while allowing for easier maintenance of the surfaces. The anti-bacterial feature allows surfaces to sustain high levels of hygiene such as in hospitals and clinics where sanitation is an important consideration,” the spokesman explains.
Shiny and anti-slip surface alternatives of the system are also available and the wide range of sizes allows cladding of both floors and walls. Being porcelain-based tiles, they are suitable for outdoor flooring. All mosaic products have plastic netting already applied, which is convenient for application as well as increasing outdoor usage efficiency, he concludes.
