

Crystal Fountains, a leading international water feature specialist, has won two major contracts in the region.
The first will involve the design and installation of water features at Central Market in Abu Dhabi, UAE and the other at the Al Waab City Development in Doha, Qatar.
The transformation of Abu Dhabi’s historic Central Market initiated by Aldar Properties and designed by Foster and Partners will culminate in the creation of a world-class development. The 5.7-hectare mixed-use project, which will include three towers will offer office, residential and retail developments in the centre of Abu Dhabi City.
Crystal Fountains is designing the water features for the retail development and the surrounding developments which will comprise of pools and fountains. The completion of the first phase of the development is scheduled for mid-2008.
The Al Waab City Development, worth $1 billion, is a 1.4 million sq m mixed-use development designed by Cansult Maunsell Aecom and to be developed by Nasser Bin Khalid and Sons Group. Crystal Fountains is designing a series of water features for the Barahat Al Waab piazza. This will mark Doha’s first open space filled with shade structures, water features, formal landscaping and a stunning sunken garden.
Al Waab City will provide housing for over 10,000 people and will comprise over 2,200 residential units, commercial space and a world-class 300-room hotel, says a spokesman for the developer.

These are two very high profile schemes that will have world-class water features as added attractions.”
Other completed projects in the Middle East include in the Al Kout Shopping Mall in Fahaheel, Kuwait, the New BurJuman Shopping Centre Expansion in Dubai, and Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
