El Maimani buoyed

El Maimani Red Brick Factories engineer Kamal Hossni Al Gobali has given high marks to the First Fire Department International Conference and Exhibition, which was staged last month at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

He says the four-day show, which attracted several dozen exhibitors and more than 2,000 visitors from across the Gulf, was a primary draw for target clients.
“The show was very helpful in introducing us to some prospective clients, especially representatives from many of the new residential and commercial developments in Bahrain and throughout the Gulf,” he continues.
The Madinah-based manufacturer is Saudi Arabia’s largest producer of red clay brick with an annual production capacity of 800,000 tonnes. The company produces more than 60 types of red clay bricks through its three factories. Last year the company exported more than a million bricks to Bahrain, used exclusively for several residential villas and compounds.
Recently, it has also been involved with the Dh2.5 billion ($680 million) Executive Towers, Dubai Properties’ first project in Business Bay, which will be completed in 2007 (See Page 37).
Established in 1980, the company has been the main supplier for most of the construction works under way in the central area of Saudi Arabia and has been involved in a number of projects that include: Aqar Group developments in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah; Mohasnee projects in Makkah; Saudi German hospitals around Saudi Arabia; Al Mohasin residential and commercial building development in Madinah; Al Husain residential and commercial building project in Madinah; and the Dar Al Arkan projects in Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu and Jeddah.
Al Gobali says El Maimani was also the main supplier of red bricks for the expansion of the old Madinah mosques at Quba, Qiblatain and Miqath.
“We also supplied red clay bricks for the construction of many mosques in Jeddah, including the King Saud, Jaffali and Corniche mosques,” he notes. “In addition, we were the main suppliers of brick for the Mina tents projects.”
The firm has offices in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Tabuk and Jouf. Its national rockwool insulation factory is the first in Saudi Arabia to produce rockwool insulation.
Al Gobali says there are several new projects on line, including the Madinah Foam Company, which will manufacture 3,000 tonnes per year of foam for furniture and furniture-related products. “Our gypsum factory is also set to produce 300,000 tonnes per year of gypsum plaster,” he adds.
