A BD422 million ($1.12 billion) nationwide housing scheme – set to provide homes for 11,500 families – was reviewed by the Prime Minister last month.
The 23-project programme will also include BD30 million in housing grants. “The target is to provide decent homes for every citizen as quickly as possible,” said the Premier.
He was also briefed on the implementation stages of the current 16 government housing projects, worth BD135 million, including construction and ownership-transfer costs to build 4,358 housing units, comprising 2,400 houses, 1,258 apartments and 700 housing plots.
