Construction solutions specialist Hilti says that its recently introduced PMP-34 point-laser is a tremendous timesaving device.
“The new system can now complete tedious alignment work that generally required two people, with a single individual and more so in a fraction of the time,” says Mutaz Al Maani, market segment manager at the Hilti Regional Office in Dubai.
The new device is small enough to fit into any tool kit, almost indestructible and extremely accurate. A simple push of a button turns the Hilti PMP 34 point laser into a spirit level, plumb bob and builder’s square, he adds.
Designed for everyday use, the Hilti PMP 34 generates two laser points at a 90° angle for horizontal alignment. It has an interior range of 30 m and can replace the builder’s square and spirit level when used in this environment. Also, fastening points for drywall partitions are fixed with proper square alignments in no time at all. Clever drywall installers truly appreciate the two additional vertical measuring points. “Transferring fastening points from the floor to the ceiling can’t be any simpler than with the PMP 34’s plumb line beams,” Al Maani adds.
This self-levelling tool emits four laser beams simultaneously, one vertically upward, one vertically downward and two horizontal beams (forwards and to the side). All four beams are projected at right angles to each other and are coincident as they have the same point of origin.
The self-levelling system of the tool has a range of ± 5° in all directions. When the self-levelling range is exceeded, the laser beam blinks. The tool, which only operates in an upright position, has an accuracy of ± 3 mm @ 10 m and an operating range of up to 30 m, depending on the light conditions.
Aligning drywall partitions
In interior finishing the Hilti PMP 34 completes two significant measuring functions. First, the tracks are aligned at a 90° angle on the ground or to a reference wall. In completing this task, the PMA 73 drywall adapter can be of great help. Once the tracks on the ground have been aligned, the vertical laser beam directly transfers the fastening points for the ceiling tracks. “The traditional method is much more cumbersome and costly by comparison as the task required that two people use a spirit level, plumb bob and chalk line while working on ladders. The new Hilti point laser provides a single construction professional with the same results at just the push of a button and with the range of accessories available, working with the PMP 34 is even more comfortable and quick,” Al Maani points out.
All automatic
The handy Hilti PMP 34 point laser is constructed for everyday use on the construction sites and has a robust housing that protects it against dust and water spray. If the Hilti PMP 34 happens to be set off level, it automatically self levels in less than three seconds. The Hilti PMP 34 is a guarantee for quick and reliable results without having to make repeat measurements. It also has a battery capacity of up to 40 hours if used continuously
