Marina Mall... completed in late 2002.

United Real Estate’s showpiece Waterfront Phase 5 Project in Kuwait is nearing completion with the opening of its second phase, comprising a seafront leisure and retail area containing a five-star hotel, restaurants, luxury shops and entertainment centres and a world-class marina.

The Marina Mall was completed under the first phase of the project.
The new coastline phase, linked to Marina Mall by an enclosed panoramic pedestrian bridge across Gulf Street, completes a massive three-year KD50 million ($170 million) development considered to be one of Kuwait’s most challenging construction projects.
When fully operational, the huge complex, covering an area equivalent to 84 football pitches, will be renamed “Marina World” to reflect its unprecedented range of upmarket leisure, entertainment and shopping facilities available in one location.
Marina World is a major development for United Real Estate – part of Kuwait Projects Company (Kipco).
The three-year project has involved reclaiming some 185,000 sq m of coastal land, and building on a total site of 420,000 sq m on each side of the coastal road.
New car parking areas in the second phase site will provide extended parking facilities for visitors to each part of the Marina World complex.
The new phase is centred on the five-star hotel and “El Marina Club” leisure centre, with mooring for 140 boats, overlooked by a two-storey crescent of shops, restaurants, cafes and recreation centres.
Adjoining is the Marina Sports Centre, dominated by a 60 m-high tower, with a seafront area containing the Institute of Advanced Science and Research Aquarium, walking, jogging and biking trails, a beach and play areas.
