The recent transformation of House O in the Jumeirah 3 neighbourhood of Dubai serves as a premier example of how high-end sanitary ware can redefine the character of a residential space. Led by LATO51 archiSENSE studio, the project radically revamped a dated, anonymous residence into an elegant contemporary home, creating seamless transitions between interior and exterior environments.
While the exterior was revitalised with bright white plaster and arched windows, the interior was reimagined as a series of “living tableaus” that prioritise natural light and a refined aesthetic. The design concept was guided by a “slow living” approach, with carefully framed views and a muted material palette that create a sense of calm continuity from room to room.
A critical element in this architectural evolution was the selection of premium fittings for the home’s wellness area. To achieve a balance of style and functionality, the designers specified the Taormina series by Italy-based Ritmonio in a brushed dark bronze finish. The choice of this specific hue and texture provides a sophisticated contrast against the lighter tones and natural materials used throughout the renovation, adding a layer of depth and visual interest to the private quarters, says the manufacturer.
In a market like Dubai, where uniqueness and luxury are essential components of high-end real estate, Ritmonio says its “Made in Italy” solutions offer a distinct level of exclusivity. The company, which boasts a 70-year heritage through its Factory Division and specialised Bath & Shower Division, focuses on combining fine craftsmanship with technical production skills to create authentic, eco-friendly products. The brand’s collections, including Taormina, are designed to optimise water consumption through advanced flow-control technologies, helping projects such as House O enhance comfort while supporting responsible resource use.
Ritmonio adds that its wide range of finishes allows designers to tailor each project to the client’s lifestyle and architectural context, whether aiming for bold contrast or discreet elegance. In House O, this design flexibility was key to creating a coherent look across the master bathroom, guest bathrooms and powder room, with coordinated mixers, shower sets and accessories reinforcing the home’s bespoke identity.
By integrating these designer taps and fittings, the renovation of House O achieved its goal of creating a functional yet aesthetically impeccable living experience that meets the high standards of the region's architecture and interior design sectors.
