Alumco, a specialised aluminium façade contractor and major glass processor, strengthened its operations in the region recently through kicking off a series of initiatives.
The first one involved embracing the green building concept and the second initiative sought the expansion of its engineering division with an aim to offer customers across the industry, high-end, quality service, says a spokesman for the company.
“The changes initiated within the engineering division will inspire us to improve upon design productivity,” says Samer Barakat, managing director, Alumco. “In the new vibrant atmosphere, Alumco’s engineers and designers have dedicated themselves to developing challenging solutions as a response to the stringent architectural façade demands in the market.
Such changes have been made in compliance with the requirements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed), and in line with Dubai’s commitment to advance the green building concept.
Alumco has spent a total of Dh20 million ($5.4 million) as part of upgrading of its facilities. The new unitised curtain-wall production line has the capacity to produce 250,000 sq m of unitised curtain-wall per year and this has bolstered Alumco’s annual production capacity to 500,000 sq m of curtain wall.
