SANY SW940L ... designed to tackle high-intensity construction and material handling environments.

SANY Group launched its next-generation SW940L wheel loader at Conexpo-Con/Agg 2026 construction show in Las Vegas, US, last month, marking a significant step forward in the company’s “Three Transformations” strategy: globalisation, digitalisation, and low-carbon development.

The new model is designed to tackle high-intensity construction and material handling environments, combining premium global components with a suite of AI-driven operational tools intended to maximise site productivity and reduce operator fatigue.

The SW940L is built on a 14.6-tonne platform, powered by a high-torque Cummins B6.7 engine (129 kW/173 hp) that meets stringent Stage V/Tier 4 Final emission standards, giving the machine the muscle needed for daily loading duties. The ZF transmission ensures smooth gear shifts and efficient power transfer to the wheels, supporting confident travel and acceleration on varied ground conditions, says its manufacturer.

Its Stage V-compliant engine, efficient driveline, and modern hydraulics help deliver productive loading cycles while keeping fuel use and environmental impact under control.

The SW940L is equipped with a 2.3 cu m bucket that suits a broad mix of bulk materials, from soil and aggregates to stockpiled construction waste. Its geometry and linkage are optimised to give good penetration into the pile, solid breakout performance, and controlled dumping at full height.

The loader integrates 360-degree cameras to offer a near all-round view of the surroundings, helping the operator manoeuvre safely in confined or busy work areas. Combined with generous glass surfaces and careful cab design, this enhances visibility to the bucket and nearby personnel or obstacles, SANY states.

Early this year, SANY Group launched a new regional supply centre in Dubai, UAE, with the first equipment shipment on January 11, marking a major step in its global supply chain expansion across the Middle East and Africa. The centre will support integrated logistics for 82 countries and regions, forming a key hub in SANY’s reconfigured overseas logistics network.

The centre features a digital warehouse management system and optimised regional transport solutions, aimed at boosting delivery efficiency, reducing logistics costs, and building scalable regional supply capabilities.

Strategically, the centre has two main priorities: first, to provide agile response and more reliable service by leveraging Dubai’s logistics position and a customer-proximate distribution model that is expected to cut parts delivery times by about 35 per cent. Second, it acts as a centralised dispatch and coordination hub for main equipment, aligning regional demand planning with global logistics partners to improve cost control, transit time consistency, and transport reliability.

According to SANY Logistics Chairman Li Guofeng, the Dubai Regional Supply Centre will be a key platform for supporting SANY’s international growth, strengthening overseas delivery and service capabilities, and underpinning the company’s long-term, sustainable expansion in global markets.
