Saudi Arabia has signed contracts worth a total of SR420 million ($111.99 million) for a number of projects in various parts of the country.

The contracts were signed by the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Muhammad Al Jarallah, the Arab News reported.

The contracts in the Riyadh region included the development of the Wadi Hanifa at a cost of SR9.97 million. Work on this project is to be completed within three-and-a-half years.

Another contract was signed for the SR35.31 million Dawadami sewage project, to be completed in three years.

A deal was also signed for implementation of the first phase of the rainwater drainage system in Jeddah. Work on the project, estimated to cost SR80.98 million is to be completed in two years and four months.

The minister signed two contracts for the construction of separate cleaning projects each worth SR48 million in the eastern and western parts of Taif, to be completed in three years.

Other contracts include:

  • A SR3.11 million project for maintenance of the squares in Madinah for three years.

  • Two deals worth a total of SR14.42 million for asphalt work. paving and lighting of roads in Hanakiya governorate.

  • Asphalting of Al Mahd road under a SR11.47 million contract.

  • Construction of a road connecting Al Maylih with Al Ushaira for SR12.29 million.

  • A SR4.94 million project to replace old electric posts in Jubail within a period of 21 months.

  • Maintenance of landscaping on Al Khobar beach for three years for SR3.99 million.

  • Asphalting roads and streetlighting works in Al Maliga town under a SR5 million contract.

  • A SR6.8 million water supply scheme in Biljurshi.

  • Asphalting roads in Kilwa governorate worth SR3.59 million.

  • Two projects to asphalt roads in Samira town (SR4.48 million and SR4.38 million);

  • The first phase of a project to build protective barriers in Adraya town against flash floods is worth SR5.45 million.

  • Asphalting roads in Daumat Al Jundal in two years (SR7.38 million).

  • A water supply scheme worth SR890,000 and a SR9.28 million contract to construct a park in Arar town.

  • A sewage project worth SR10.65 million and asphalting of streets for SR5.27 million in Samita town.
