Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, says it has connected its network to Bluewaters - a mixed-use project developed by Meraas in Dubai – in record time.

In October 2015, Empower signed a contract to provide district cooling services to the prestigious Bluewaters, a modern, family-oriented island destination with a pioneering spirit that blends waterfront living with the exhilaration of urban city life.

As per the contract, Empower will provide the buildings at the developments with 25,000 tons of refrigeration (RT) services to chill its residential units, retail stores, commercial buildings and hotels.

The island is located off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence, featuring Ain Dubai, reportedly the world’s largest observation wheel, two hotels, and distinctive retail, residential, hospitality and entertainment zones.
