AS PART of plans to strengthen its foothold in the region, Darasas, a supplier of advanced industrial solutions, is promoting in the GCC quality machines that use high frequency (HF) technology for welding PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PU (polyurethane) and polyester materials.

The machines, offered at affordable prices, are manufactured by Balacchi of Italy and ensure the superior quality of welding of the finished product, said a spokesman for the Jordan-based Darasas, the exclusive representative and agent of Balacchi in the Middle East.

Darasas, which represents a group of world-class manufacturers from Germany, Italy and Canada, now looks forward to an excellent year with many orders in the pipeline.  The spokesman said the company has been doing well especially in the last two years, serving the high-end segment of the market which has grown significantly.

Balacchi machines ... high quality welding for various industrial sectors including tensile membrane structures.

Balacchi started manufacturing machines for the plastic welding industry as early as 1970s and over the last 40 years has evolved from a small local company in Milan to one of the leading Italian and European providers of high-quality HF welding equipment. All its production and service processes, from machine planning to delivery, are well managed by professional and specialised technicians, who pay particular attention to all safety norms.

The company offers stationary and movable-head HF welding machines that meet the requirements of small to large manufacturers of inflatable, tensile architectural membranes and tents, as well as of the transportation, automotive, packaging, medical, signage and geomembrane industries.

Balacchi provides the tensile membrane industry with standard and customised machine solutions not only for HF plastic welding but also for PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) welding, combining both leading welding technologies under one roof, which is quite unique in the tensile membrane industry, said the spokesman.

In 2011, Balacchi moved to a larger factory in Senago, Milan, to cater to the increased demand for its machines. It is equipped with increased production facilities for machines, electro-rods and thermoforming, as well as for sales and after-sales support. The company is able to respond quickly to customer requirements as it has an efficient network of agents and distributors worldwide, he said.
