MAKKAH Municipality has signed four contracts worth SR1.49 billion ($399 million) for the construction of intersections with various highways crossing the new Ring Road IV in the Saudi city.
Makkah Mayor Osama Al Barr said the municipality aims to develop an advanced network of modern roads to link various places and districts in the city.
When completed, the Ring Road IV will be a major addition to the transport infrastructure in the city and will resolve bottlenecks and traffic jams that impact the city during the peak Haj and Umrah seasons, the mayor said.
The contracts have been signed with companies specialised in such works.
