Jotun’s Colour Ambassadors ... creative.

JOTUN Paints, a leading global producer and distributor of paints and powder coatings, has launched a palette customised to suit homes in the Middle East.

The Colour Trends Volume Three, 2012 has been created by ‘Jotun Colour Ambassadors’, a group of credible design professionals from the Middle East and North African (Mena) region.

“Colour Trends Volume Three, with the theme ‘Be Home’, aims to inspire consumers to appreciate more what they have and realise how easy and practical it is to give a new look to their home. They will experience the joy of being rejuvenated and refreshed, which is exactly what ‘Be Home’ theme is all about,” explains Maricor Cruz, regional designer – Mena, Jotun Paints.

Be Home covers these new and refreshing trends – Beauty, Arabian and Cruising.

The Beauty trend has a soft, feminine palette, and aims to beautify the home with its colours ranging from deep purple Jamila; warm shades of Flamingo, Morjan and Tabeeia; and soft colours such as Khajal, Nouma, Cotton ball, and Aneeqa.

The Arabian trend focuses on the things and colours that are characteristic of this region – dunes, honey, potteries – and inspires to bring them to homes, through a rich palette. These include Aasal, Qarmedi, Ramli, Ghoroub, Mohair, Naft, Kuthban and Lolo.

Lastly, Cruising highlights the soothing effect of the blues and whites of the new palette such as Amwaj, Shiraa, Safaa, Tohlob, Asdaf, Moheet, Bahr, and Maa.

Cruz says the third volume is the outcome of the recent Colour Trends workshop. Jotun Colour Ambassadors identified and developed the new range of colours based on key factors like design trends in interior, architecture, home accessories, fashion, current events, culture and tradition in this region. The group collaborated and came up with the trend forecasts for 2012-13, which includes the Be Home trends.

“Our region is beautiful and unique reflecting different moods and colour palettes. We cannot just adapt colours that are coming from Europe, for example, because they don’t reflect who and what we are. We needed to create a palette that suits us,” adds Cruz.

“We are very proud to offer Colour Trends Volume Three, 2012. Our colour trends palette has been created and customised by a group of design professionals. This brings a very high credibility to our colour trends palette. We highly recommend and guarantee that our consumers will achieve and enjoy a refreshing yet trendy home through this year’s latest colours. This is our commitment to our consumers as the Number One in colours,” says Per Olav Ramstad, regional marketing director of Jotun Paints.

‘Be Home’ Colour Trends colours are available in Fenomastic, in all Jotun Multicolour shops and Inspiration Centres across the Mena region.

Founded in 1926 in Norway, Jotun established its presence in the Middle East in 1974, with Jotun UAE. Since then, Jotun has expanded dramatically throughout the region. Its factory in the Al Quoz area of Dubai, UAE, is the biggest worldwide for Jotun and the Middle East.
