ATLAS Copco has launched a range of four rig-mounted bucket crushers – the BC 1500, BC 2250, BC 3500 and BC 4900 – for efficient and economic recycling of all types of inert material on site.

The crushers help meet the EU directive on waste management that demands a recycling quota of 70 per cent for construction and demolition waste by the year 2020. The attachments can be used to crush asphalt, stone and concrete debris as well as mine and quarry material to be directly reused on site or sold to third parties.

“The hydraulic bucket crushers reduce the mechanical equipment on site, as well as transportation and dumpsite cost, and can be employed at all urban work sites, especially in confined conditions,” says a spokesman for the company.
Atlas Copco offers a wide aperture bucket with large capacity, and the output size can be easily adjusted from 20 to 120 mm (20-100 mm for the BC 1500).

The bucket crushers require low maintenance: a 30-hour greasing interval and only two grease points are the standard maintenance. All crucial parts are long-lasting even under extreme stresses. The bucket jaws, which take the most stresses, follow a clever wear part concept. They can be inverted, top and bottom jaws can be exchanged or single jaws can be rotated by 180 degrees to also use the rear part.

The range covers four service weight (1,500 kg, 2,250 kg, 3,500 kg and 4,900 kg), which can be used on any excavator larger than 12 tonnes.
