ABDULLAH A M Al-Khodari Sons Company and Saudi Kier Construction have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding to jointly bid for projects in the Eastern Province of the kingdom.

The Saudi companies will compete for projects in oil, gas, power, water and industrial sectors and the memorandum has had no financial impact so far, according to Abdullah A M Al-Khodari.

Saudi Kier is part of the UK-based Kier Construction, which has equivalent subsidiaries in Dubai, Caribbean and Romania among other destinations.

Recently, Abdullah A M Al-Khodari signed two contracts with Ma’aden, comprising a SR108.7-million ($28 million) deal to build a piping network at the Ras Al Zour aluminium smelter, where it will also construct storage buildings for a project value of SR 90.87 million ($24.23 million). This project is expected to be completed by October this year.

The company also signed a contract with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu for a centralised traffic management system in Jubail.

The project is to be executed over a period of 80 weeks and is valued at SR37.83 million ($10.08 million).
