VISION Techniques of the UK has introduced the Trans-caM II colour mobile CCTV system for mining, quarrying, site and other off-road applications.

Tran-caM II is packed with practical features, providing exceptional vision for safe reversing, says managing director Michael Hanson. "With its high performance, the product will obliterate on price any alternative system in its class," he says.

Trans-caM II comprises a high quality camera, manufactured around a Panasonic camera 'engine' and a superb super-slim 6.9 inch flat-screen LCD monitor featuring a Sharp TFT display. The system comes complete with wiring, fitting kit and three years' warranty, says Hanson.

"The slimline LCD monitor features a highly beneficial non-reflective, flat-screen, TFT display. The design provides high quality images unimpeded by spurious light and the reflections of operators close to the screen. The monitor also features as standard, a quick release system allowing mounting from the roof of the vehicle cab where dashboard mounting is not practicable or convenient. The colour monitor operates from 12V DC supplies and consumes around 9W in operation," continues Hanson. "The rugged and waterproof, yet smart and functional camera design, is engineered to withstand the rigours of tough environments. It is also sensitive in operation to provide the high quality pictures necessary for a clear and reliable monitor display. It provides an exceptional picture even in poor lighting conditions."

Both camera and monitor come complete with mounting brackets and the camera also comes with an adjustable sun visor.

"To reduce the risk of accidents, the UK Health & Safety Executive's Guidelines on Reversing Vehicles highlights a closed circuit TV system - such as Trans-caM II - in the cab as a measure to increase the area a driver can see. Trans-caM II systems are EC EMC regulations compliant and carry the CE Mark, says Hanson.
