Master’s products ... wing stop.

MASTER, an Italian specialist in producing and marketing windows accessories and door frames, has expanded its line of double handles with the introduction of several new items such as the lowered grip and stainless steel versions.

The lowered grip version is an ergonomic solution ideal where space is at a premium, while the functional stainless steel version is particularly suitable for internal and external contemporary doors.
“With the lowered grip version, Master designers have managed to significantly lower the handle from 60 mm to 36 mm, which is the perfect height when the space around the door is limited,” says a spokesman for Master
The lowered double handle is manufactured using die-cast aluminium and features easy-to-use screw covering strips. The handle can be operated with either the left or the right hand without any modifications, and on two different centre distances, 43 and 50 mm, with an 8 mm handle square.
It can be installed using several methods, such as self-tapping screws or metric screws and rivets. The lowered double handle features four fixing holes for more secure and long-lasting fastening.
An internal double return spring ensures perfect horizontal alignment. Apart from the die-cast aluminium grip, the product includes a zamak body, body covering and plug, a galvanised steel spring and Delrin anti-friction bushings.
Meanwhile the stainless steel double handle which complete the double handle range, was developed by Master in response to market demands for high weathering resistance and versatility. Also for this product, the most suitable materials have been chosen: the grip as well as the washer and the cylinder cover are manufactured with satin stainless steel, while the fixing screws are made of stainless steel.
Available in two different models, both equipped with shaped cylinder covers and 8-mm handle square, the steel double handle can be secured using self-tapping screws.

Functional solution
Another product from Master’s research and development is a clever system able to block a wing when it is moved close to the frame.
“The great functionality of this coupling mechanism lies in the possibility to move the window wing close to the frame, blocking it when, for example, the user goes on a balcony and wants to momentarily close the wing behind him,” says the spokesman. “The wing stop can be installed without making holes. The pin and the mounting backing plate feature a snap-on structure, which allows them to be installed also on existing doors and windows. The backing plate allows a wide tolerance for centering the pin (± 2 mm), which enables the installer to compensate for possible assembling inaccuracies.”
The pin is made of zamak, the backing plate of nylon and the setscrews are stainless steel.

Star range enhanced
Master has also completed the Star range of snap-on telescopic arms for top-hinge windows.
Star can be installed on an existing door or window without producing holes, thanks its zamak snap-on elements. It is a functional accessory, featuring six snap positions and a high resistance with a lifting power tested at a static load of 80 kg, says the spokesman.
Star is manufactured using Aisi 300 stainless steel which, with its well-known non-magnetic properties, is highly corrosion resistant and, as a result, ideal for outward opening doors and windows, he points out.
“The Star arms have to be always used as a couple, in combination with hinges and rule joints, in order to restrict the opening of the top-hinged doors and windows,” he says. “The use of a hinge with three holes, such as the Top Rapid Punto 33 model, is recommended for safely mounting the device using self-tapping screws.”

Perimetral closures
Another system offered by Master is the Empire System, which provides a solution for assembling the perimeter closures of curtain-wails and wing-type fenestration systems, with the possibility of having a number of locking points distributed around the perimeter of the individual units.
This range also includes the Empire espagnolette with off-centre handle adaptable to curtain-walls, allowing the easier movement of the wing as – unlike traditional espagnolettes – the handgrip is placed at a wider distance from the glass.
Master has marketed and produced accessories for windows and door frames since l983. An entrepreneurial spirit, a learned know-how enhanced year after year, anticipation of market demands, and constant research and improvement of products have allowed the company to grow and become a market leader.
