In progress ... construction at the Waterfront.

Enabling works have started on Aquarius Gate, the first third-party development at Nakheel’s Waterfront.

The $816-million project is being undertaken by Cirrus Developments and construction has already reached a milestone with 2-m-deep excavations completed and 50,000 cu m of earth shifted from site. Having become the first third-party developer to break ground at Downtown Jebel Ali last year, Cirrus Developments has continued to set precedents with its projects.
Chairman and CEO Behnam Eshragh said: “Cirrus Developments’ focus is on creating reliable investments by delivering innovative and high-quality properties on time and on plan. We have overcome various challenges due to current market conditions which are affecting all developers and are proud to be the first developer to start construction at Waterfront.”
Aquarius Gate comprises two towers – one residential and one commercial – and is located in Madinat Al Arab, the premier beachfront community at Waterfront. It is conveniently close to beaches, the metro station, shops, restaurants, parks and other amenities. One side of the development is planned to be dedicated to an art wall which will showcase Islamic art from around the world.
Marwan Al Qamzi, managing director Waterfront and Palm Jebel Ali, Nakheel said: “We congratulate Cirrus for being the first developer to commence construction at Waterfront. Madinat Al Arab will become one of Dubai’s leading beachfront communities, and has attracted the best developers. This is another great milestone for Waterfront; major civil works and infrastructure have already commenced at Madinat Al Arab and last year we commenced flooding of the 8-km Palm Cove Canal.”
