Jotun Paints launched two new products – Jotashield SuperDurable and Jotashield Heritage High Build – at The Big 5 exhibition which was held in Dubai last month.

Jotashield SuperDurable is a pure silicone acrylic-based product specially formulated to protect concrete from extreme climate conditions in the region.  SuperDurable is  a low volatile organic compound (VOC) coating based on a special hybrid silicone binder which is claimed to have twice the lifespan of traditional coatings. Formulated to provide superior durability, the product has anti-concrete carbonation properties, and low chemical reactivity, thus enabling it to offer superior concrete protection and help reduce maintenance costs, according to Jotun.
A follow-through to the success of its Jotashield Heritage specialty decorative range, Jotashield Heritage High Build is a single-pack modified acrylic, water-based high-build textured coating that is ideal for buildings, which require either a worn or trendy look.

Meanwhile, at the Urban Waterfronts 2008 exhibition held last month in Dubai, Jotun highlighted its eco-friendly Fenomastic Emulsion and Jotashield Thermo brands.
The products reflect Jotun’s strong support for the eco-construction or green building concept spreading across the UAE, Kristensen said.
Fenomastic Emulsion is a fine acrylic copolymer-based emulsion with low VOC levels that contributes positively to healthy indoor air quality. Due to its high durability and superior washability, it has excellent flow and coverage, therefore giving a smooth surface, he said.
Jotashield Thermo is the only paint classified as an insulator, he said. Its solar reflective system is specially formulated to provide thermal insulation and anti-carbonation properties, which when applied to a villa or tower building will result in superior heat deflection and reduced interior temperature and cooling costs. These properties help the villa or building to be energy efficient, he added.
“Both paints have low VOC content, thus making them desirable for sustainable site development. They also help meet the requirements for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed) certification for new construction and major renovations to pass green building rating standards,” Kristensen added.
