Not Too Shabby, which specialises in Venetian-style mirrors, lighting accessories and wrought iron furnishing, will display its extensive portfolio of decorative products at gulfBID this month.

“We are hoping that our company will be well received by local and international buyers during our maiden appearance at this trade show as we want to penetrate the Middle East markets with our unique product line-up,” says Stan Anson, operations manager of the Philippines-based company.
“Our business has been growing steadily as we regularly participate in various trade shows around the world to market our range of mirrors and home accessories,” he adds.
The company will be introducing a number of new designs for this year at the event and is keen to tap the booming hotel industry sector of the Middle East in a bid to furnish these luxury interiors with its Venetian products that combine contemporary and old-world charm.
A medium-scale company that is currently staffed with around 38 employees, Not Too Shabby has been gradually expanding its product line from just mirrors to a wide range of furniture incorporating mirrors and other home decorative accessories.
Tracing the origins of the company which was set up in 1991, a company spokesman says:  “Not Too Shabby is a concept of Liza Anson, who grew up surrounded with beautiful, unusual antiques. Her mother was known as Asia's Queen of Antiques. With her great appreciation for beautiful things, Anson started designing and combining antiques and modern-style together. She would have an antique armoire stripped, repainted with a vibrant colour to give it a fresher look.”
“This way,” he continues, “one can keep the value of old furniture and use it as a new accent together with a contemporary style.”
Anson also aims to depart from the ordinary, for example by using a daring fabric on a 19th century salon set, thus creating a traditional style with a fresh modern look.  Her style is a mix of antique, vintage with a modern twist – which has become very popular in today’s lifestyle, he adds.
Not Too Shabby will be exhibiting at Stand 2A22 in gulfBID.
