Mann+Hummel, the German filtration specialist for the automotive and general industry applications, is focusing on strengthening its relationship with Middle Eastern countries through its new representative office in Dubai.
In addition, the company continues to expand its range of filters to suit the various models of vehicles used in the Asian region.
“The German company places great importance on the good relationships that it has developed with its Arab business partners over the years. Direct personal contact and the resulting trust are decisive factors in the success of common projects and business transactions in this region in particular,” says Sabine Wagner, head of communications and market research, Mann+Hummel.
“The company also stands to benefit from the fact that German products and workmanship are well respected in Arab countries due to their reliability, long service life and operational performance.”
The Dubai office, which was set up last October, operates as a regional base to provide local customers with consultation on its complete range designed for the automobile and industrial aftermarket. It also uses this Dubai office to support customers in other countries in the region including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Pakistan, apart from the UAE.
“The office in Dubai is helping us to reinforce our close contacts with the Arab business world,” says Wagner, adding, “this means that customers can benefit from direct and quick consultation on a local level. At the same time, the company is consistently extending its market position in this economically-significant region.”
“One employee each from the industrial filters business unit and automotive applications are stationed at the new office for local consultation and sales. Mann+Hummel can use its presence in the region to react to individual customer requirements more quickly and effectively while also improving significantly the support in the market.”
Founded in 1941 in Ludwigsburg, Germany, Mann+Hummel is a development partner and series supplier for the international automobile and mechanical engineering industry. The Mann+Hummel Group, which operates internationally, has been represented with Mann-Filter, its brand in the independent aftermarket, through wholesalers and partners in the Middle East since the sixties.
“Our air, oil, fuel, hydraulic and cabin filters in OEM quality offer you products for the highest requirements,” says a spokesman for the company.
“Mann+Hummel products have been synonymous with quality for over 60 years. This level of quality is the result of intensive research and development, an area in which the company invests roughly six per cent of its total annual turnover. Throughout the world, 500 employees are working on new and economical products and on further development of filter technology,” he says.
“Mann+Hummel’s filters and filter elements are produced in a large series and are always of the same quality as the original equipment. All Mann+Hummel locations have or will have ISO 9001:2002 certification, and in the automobile division the ISO TS 16949:2002. Products are put through intensive quality tests at all stages of production before being supplied to customers. This level of quality applies for both serial products and maintenance parts.”
With more than 4,000 different filters and filter elements for use in approximately 120,000 applications throughout the world, the Mann-Filter brand offers a comprehensive range of filter products in the independent aftermarket business. By the end of this year approximately another 200 filter types will be added to this figure – so that the brand will be able to be used in more than 33,000 vehicle models.
With roughly 450 filter types for more than 2,200 Asian vehicle models, Mann-Filter is also one of the leading providers of filters for Asian car manufacturers.
