Qatar Cool, a pioneer in district cooling technology in Qatar, and United Development Company (UDC) have signed a new deal worth QR800 million ($220 million).

As per this deal, UDC will provide 120,000 tons of refrigeration (TR) through district cooling for The Pearl-Qatar.
The agreement to design, build, and operate the 120,000 tonnes plant will create the world’s single largest district cooling plant ever constructed, said chairman of Qatar Cool and board member of UDC Omar Alfardan.
Meanwhile, Qatar Cool has begun operating the country’s first district cooling plant which will provide 30,000 TR to office complexes in West Bay.
Using cutting-edge technology, Qatar Cool’s district cooling systems provide chilled water through a 30 km underground pipeline currently spread throughout West Bay district to supply to office buildings, hotels, residential towers.
