A new BD300 million ($795 million) town is to be built in Bahrain’s Hidd area, as a private development.
It will take five years to complete the first phase of the project, to be built by Al Enma’a House for Real Estate.
It will include government and private homes, in addition to a five-star hotel, Al Enma'a general manager Manaf Hamza told Muharraq Municipal Council members at an extraordinary meeting.
“The project has been divided into two parts – the northern, which includes the tourist facilities, private residences, shops, restaurants and the hotel, while the southern includes government houses,” he said. “Land for the project, which will be around 1.8 million sq m, will be reclaimed in co-ordination with the Works and Housing Ministry.”
