GSG International – a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of aluminium doors and windows accessories – has introduced its GSHD series heavy-duty friction hinges in the Middle East market.
“The new friction hinge, which has an endurance capacity of 50,000 full cycles, is another addition to the company’s long line of tested and trusted products and can support a top-hung window vent up to maximum weight of 155 kg and with this, Giesse offers the full accessories for curtain wall openings.” says Ayman A Adeeb, branch manager, GSG Middle East.
Italy-based GSG International – which has been marketing its products under the Giesse brand since 1965 – has carved its own niche in the Middle Eastern markets, especially in the UAE.
Already, the company has been associated with a number of prestigious projects and has supplied Giesse accessories to the Arabian Ranches (829 villas), the Dubai Marina Towers, Eissah Tower, Moosa Towers 1 and 2 at Shaikh Zayed Road, Eissah Tower Dubai, Dubai Police headquarters (all in Dubai); the Crystal Plaza Tower and the Al Dorrat Tower (both in Sharjah); a building for the Shaikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Al Ain Mall and the Abu Dhabi Industrial City (all in Abu Dhabi).
“We have a strong presence in the market and our list of projects is extensive. It’s a combination of innovative design, engineering and practicality which makes Giesse a popular brand in the region,” he explains.
Giesse boasts a wide product range that includes: accessories for tilt-and-turn windows, sliding windows, bottom hung windows, top-hung windows, casement windows, tilt-and-slide door, sliding doors and casement doors.
The company, which has become synonymous with quality and reliability, is a holder of European quality certifications including the RAL and ISO 9001. The group operates in the GCC, Middle East, Iran and the Indian subcontinent through its branch office, the GSG Middle East, which is based in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Besides the heavy-duty friction hinges, Giesse has also introduced the Futura tilt-and-turn mechanism, which is known to be fast and easy in assembly. Tested for 60,000 movements, Futura is manufactured as per RAL German specifications, says Adeeb. “This makes it incredibly easy to understand where to mount each piece, thereby eliminating all doubts, hesitation and wasted time,” says the spokesman. “Even inexperienced technicians can easily install window components,” he adds.
The Cover Project is a new product, which will enable the final user to choose the same design for windows and doors whether cremones, door handles or window handles are used. With its launch, Giesse has its widest range of cremones and door and window handles. The patented Cover Project will distinguish Giesse from its main competitors.
A new curtain-wall handle is another product introduced in the market, which has been designed keeping the convenience of the customer in mind. This pull handle increases the distance between the handle grip and the glass so that the user can also open large/heavy wings easily.
“We design accessories for various profiles and assist extruders in making their own new systems,” Adeeb concludes.
