Big 5

Business boost

Dubai-based TEKM International, a leading supplier of top-of-the-line ceramic products, will exhibit its new product line, the Synora, at Dubai’s premier construction show – the Big 5.

“The launch is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the regional markets,” says a company spokesman.
“The brand – our own – produced in India on state-of-the-art machinery imported from Italy and Germany is a marvel of double fire technology and has created its own niche in the Asian, African and Gulf markets,” he adds.
In addition to the launch, the company expects to explore new avenues of business during Big 5.
“We expect to secure sizeable business at the Big 5 as an opportunity like this comes only once a year when we can showcase our products to such a large audience from around the world,” the spokesman says.
TEKM is a limited liability company offering a wide array of ceramic wall and floor tiles, polished porcelain tiles and glazes vitro tiles. The company has managed to capture a sizeable share of tile market with its dazzling variety of designs and the sheer pace of innovation.
The company currently deals in rustic, glazed porcelain and polished porcelain floor and wall tiles and does finishing work for product types including Monoporosa, Monocottura or Bicottura, and third fired.
TEKM International aims to earn at least 35 per cent of its total revenue from international operations in the near future.
“We are aiming to become the most preferred tile supply company in both the distribution channels and the institutional segment,” says the spokesman.
Towards achieving this goal, the company has developed world-class management systems and practices and is closely following a policy of introducing quality products and providing exceptional services to its clients.
“In our line of business, critical factors such as a strong and penetrative distribution network and successful brand recall are imperative for a successful market presence. We have already made an impact on the market and are working in the direction of taking our company from strength to strength,” he points out.
TEKM has set up a stockyard and office in Al Rashidiya, Dubai from where the goods are distributed. Since Dubai is the hub of ceramic tiles for the entire region, the company is also using its stockyard for servicing customers who come from across GCC to make purchases.
The company also has a production contract in China, where manufacturing, production and quality control is supervised by TEKM’s qualified and experienced experts.
Apart from its own manufacturing facilities, the company also stocks tiles from Turkey and Spain.
“We do not merely sell ceramic products, but we strongly believe in shaping the dreams of our clients. We plan to achieve our growth through introducing innovative product designs and we are confident of overcoming competition and emerge as a market leader,” the spokesman says.
TEKM predicts a brighter future for the tile industry in the UAE, pegging hopes on the current industry growth statistics of 15 per cent per annum.
Commenting on the Dubai market, he says: “The ceramic sector will continue its growth as ceramic tiles are rapidly replacing conventional flooring materials such as mosaic, marble and granite. With advancement in technology, ceramic tiles have become economical and the growing demand for the product in housing and commercial sectors would also positively contribute to strengthening the market.
