ABB, a Switzerland-headquartered leader in power and automation technologies, has clinched a number of contracts over the past four months, indicating its growing strength in the Saudi market.

These include two major contracts worth a total SR16.2 million from the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC).  The first order worth SR7.8 million ($2.1 million) from SWCC in the Western region of the kingdom calls for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 227 cubicles of MNS switchgear.
SWCC provides the kingdom with fresh water from desalinated seawater.
The latest order includes the removal of 13 units of 480 V old switchgear and supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 13 new 480 V switchgear at SWCC’s plant in Jeddah. In addition, The company has secured a contract from SWCC worth SR8.4 million ($2.2 million) for the replacement and associated activities for five units of generator circuit breakers at its Al Khobar plant in the Eastern region.
Recently, the company has also landed a contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to execute its prestigious SEC-EOA project in the Eastern Province.
In addition, the electrical industries division of ABB in Saudi Arabia recently won an order for the supply of low voltage (LV) switchgear (type MNS) worth SR2.4 million ($640,000)  from Saudi Bin Laden Group-Bemco.
The company has also clinched a deal to supply various low-voltage products worth  SR2.3 million, to one of its distributors.
