Cyprus-based Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P Overseas) has won the main package on the proposed Emirates New Engineering Centre (ENEC) hangar project at Dubai International Airport.

The estimated $320 million contract will involve the construction of eight hangars for light and heavy maintenance over a total area of about 27,700 sq m; a 12,000 sq m workshop and central plant building; two taxiways; offices; a power complex; aircraft washing bay; gatehouse; and a 73,000 sq m car park building. The facilities are due to be completed by the third quarter of this year.
The facility will be used by Emirates airline and will be designed to serve wide-bodied Airbus A380 aircraft.
France’s Aeroports de Paris (AdP) is acting as project manager and overall design and lead consultant.
The UK’s Fraser Nag & Partnership is assisting AdP on the project, a report stated.
