Denmark-based Triax, considered a leading supplier of complete terrestrial and satellite systems for reception and distribution of radio and TV signals, has recently installed its TDH SMATV system at the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach hotels in Dubai.
Triax, which has plans to improve its market presence in the region by offering innovative and customised cabinets for a variety of purposes, set up its Middle East office in Dubai late last year.
Triax’s cabinets and enclosures are used for distribution of electricity, telephony, cable TV and utilities and the company also deals with antennas and electronics for SMATV installations.
Triax specialises in customised enclosure solutions for the telecom industry and has supplied its specially-designed cabinets to Iran Communication Industries, which is carrying out a major telecommunication project for the benefit of the 12 million inhabitants of Tehran.
Says a spokesman for the company: “The major challenge in the Iranian project was to develop a cabinet that is completely water and dustproof (corresponding to IP 65). Because of the heat generation from the electronics inside the cabinet and the extreme weather conditions, it was necessary to include both an air-conditioning system and a heating element to keep the temperature between the ranges of 40 and 5 deg C. In case of a power failure, the fan function of the air-conditioner starts operation to keep the temperature constant for as long as possible.”
He adds: “All Triax’s cabinets are made of galvanised steel, and surface-coated with polyester powder. This works as a strong combination for corrosion protection and many of Triax’s cabinets still look good after 25 to 30 years, even when they are placed in tough environments and under extreme conditions.”
Triax is capable of developing, producing and delivering customised cabinets for a large variety of purposes.
