UAE-based Oasis Wear Tech Industries (OWT), a member of Al -Shirawi group of companies, manufactures CastoDur Diamond Plates (CDP) at its Dubai plant in technical collaboration with Castolin and Eutectic (C+E) International SA.

CDPs are composite materials consisting of steel plates overlaid with wear-resistant deposits by means of welding.
They are successfully used for applications in the cement readymix, concrete, steel mills, and glass industries to extend the service life of the parts subjected to severe wear.

The CDP - XuperWave have several properties that make it extremely useful in these applications:

  • Controlled directional change of hard-surfacing.
  • Stress reduction within the base material.
  • Disturbed particle surface flow by alternating orientation, hence significantly reduced abrasion.
  • Long lasting welds when joining CDP wear plates.
  • Independence of pattern direction in mounting and assembling parts of specialised constructions results in economical benefits.
  • Wider scope for constructions.
  • Better formability particularly for small bending radii.
  • Extended operational envelope that is ideally suited for protection of air impeller parts under industrial conditions.

OWT's state-of-the-art machinery ensures high and consistent quality products. The plant has a tri-axial robot welding unit, a four-roll hydraulic bending machine, plasma cutting unit and various allied machines. Operated by a highly-skilled and factory-trained workforce, these machines give OWT a complete in-house production and fabrication capability for made-to-measure wear protection in accordance with individual engineering specifications and to suit individual requirements. OWT also has a specialised team to undertake site installation work round the clock to help minimise shutdown time.

OWT offers a complete solution package, which includes application analysis, optimum recommendation, custom-built product fabrication, and installation at site. This package is backed with a service warranty.
Its product range includes: CDP4601/4666 - weld-cladded; CDP 4601: Carbon-chrome alloy to combat abrasion and erosion; CDP 4666: Carbon-chrome alloy with niobium and boron -particularly suitable for applications that are subject to extreme abrasion and erosion.

Under technical licence from Castolin, OWT maintains a database system 'Terolink' containing examples of applications and measurement data of successful projects all over the world.
