Company started operations in 1976 as the first company in the GCC to manufacture LPG cylinders.
Located in Dubai's Al Quoz industrial area, Cylingas has, over the years, expanded its scope of activities and established an excellent track record for the design and fabrication of cylinders, pressure vessels, steel storage tanks and pipelines for government, semi-government as well as private sector projects in the oil and gas sector, according to a company spokesman.
The company also specialises in the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of LPG storage and distribution facilities for industrial, commercial and residential buildings and villas. The Grand Hyatt Hotel figures among the prestigious projects completed recently in this line of specialisation, a few others being the Gold and Diamond Park, Royal Mirage Beach Resort, Dusit Dubai Hotel and Zabeel Palace kitchen, all in Dubai and RAK Ceramics in Ras Al Khaimah.
The company is authorised to use American Society of Mechanical Engineers' (ASME) "U" seal of approval on its pressure vessels, he adds.
Some major projects which involved pressure vessel fabrication were carried out by the company for Emirates Gas, Emirates Petroleum Products Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), Emarat, Al Nahda Gas, Abu Dhabi, and National Gas Company, Muscat, Oman.
"We at Cylingas have made a contribution to the development of Dubai and will continue to support and contribute in the economic development of the emirate and the region as a whole by providing specialised and quality services," says the spokesman.
Cylingas was established in April 1974 as a joint venture between Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the late ruler of Dubai, and R M Goculdas of Bombay, India. In 1993 the shares of HH Sheikh Rashid were transferred to Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc), a fully government-owned company.
