INTERNATIONAL designers will converge on Dubai, UAE, to take part in the leading design event of the region that’s marking 20 years in business.

Exhibitors from across the globe have already confirmed their participation in Index 2010 to be held from November 8 to 11 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Exhibitors will hope to tap a robust market in the GCC where interior design contracting projects from 2009 to 2010 were estimated at $22 billion, with the demand for interior design services in the UAE alone expected to be worth $14.6 billion this year.
Last year, more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 50 countries participated.
This year’s expo will showcase a wide array of high-end and innovative design products including many high-profile brands from within the GCC, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US.
New exhibitors this year include Toshiro Alloy from Japan and HD Interiors from Russia, which specialises in unique and inspiring works using Swarovski crystals. From the US, Robert Allen will showcase the finest fabrics. 
This year, there will be a strong Spanish presence at Index. Exhibitors include award-winning Andreu World which is synonymous with modern form and functional design, furniture designer Jordi Mila, Muebles Canella, Grassoler, Lámparas Schuller, Vicente Zaragoza and Mariner.
Italy’s exhibitors include world-renowned glassmaker Arte di Murano.
Participants from the GCC include Rivoli Silks, Baitek Palace representing Informit Italia, Beautiful House, Beacon Decor and Light and Brasslight International. Index 2010 will also feature informal seminars, panel debates and competitions.
