JCB of the UK has expanded its tracked excavator range for the demolition industry with the introduction of a new 33-tonne machine. The JS330XD (Xtra Duty) joins the 22-tonne JS220XD and the 26-tonne JS260XD - all of which come with a choice of rig options.
Features on the new JS330XD include a chassis-mounted FOPS (falling objects protection structure) cage for complete operator protection, reinforced revolving frame, heavy-duty guards for the trackmotor and turret, strengthened dipper, reinforced linkage plus upper-structure and counter weight buffers for extreme durability, says John Palmer of JCB.
He continues: "The XD machines all have pre-drilled track frames to take full-length track guards and an optional merged hydraulic circuit is also available for improved crusher operation.
"As with all the models in JCB's 14-strong tracked excavator range, the XD demolition excavators incorporate: the CAPS II hydraulic and engine management system for maximum productivity, fuel economy and control; Nephron filtration for the hydraulic circuits, offering 1,000-hour filter life and 5,000-hour hydraulic-oil changes, as well as the superior JCB EuroCab.
"The Xtra Duty machines all come with a choice of rig options including three booms: standard, straight and three-piece high reach, in addition to a specialised range of digging, crushing and pulverising attachments."
JCB's range for the demolition industry also includes Robot skid-steer loaders and mini-excavators.
For demolition applications, the Robots are specially equipped with rear-mounted nudge bar, windscreen guards, shovel ram guarding, towing bar, airboss tyres and pallet forks, he says.
"JCB mini-excavators have also been adapted for use on demolition sites. Equipped with Hammermaster rockbreakers, they are able to lower buildings from the top before conventional demolition balls swing into action," Palmer adds.
