
Germany-based chemical products company Wacker-Chemie aims to penetrate the Middle East market through its new sales office in Dubai, UAE.
Wacker opened the Dubai sales office last year as a first step to enhancing the company's Middle East strategy.
The company will focus on its core areas of polymers and silicones applications for the construction, paint and textile sectors.
Wacker's Dubai branch is linked to the company's Turkish office in Istanbul, which is the region's central Competence Centre.
The Dubai branch has responsibility for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Wacker-Chemie has over 16,000 employees worldwide and annual sales of DM4.9 billion ($2.5 billion). It ranks among the global leaders in its core businesses: polymers, specialty chemicals, materials, silicones, and hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor industry.
The company's product spectrum includes 3,000 products ranging from polymer dispersions, redispersible powders, fine chemicals, silicone fluids, resins and rubbers, chemical feedstocks and catalysts to hyperpure silicon and advanced materials.
