Tiger Steel Engineering of Sharjah achieved a milestone when it delivered a 14,500-tonne steel structure - one of the largest to be produced in the Middle East - for the new terminal at Dubai International Airport.
Recently, it has completed the supply of 3,200 tonnes of structural steel for the Hawiyah Gas Plant project of Saudi Aramco - fabricated to outstanding quality, as certified by the main contractor on the project JGC of Japan, says managing director Aziz Nasr.
Having gained recognition as a leading manufacturer of complex steel structures and also as a potential supplier for the UAE of pre-engineered buildings, the company now aims to lead the field in the supply and marketing of pre-engineered steel buildings all over the Gulf states and neighbouring countries and, to this end, it has made new investments in human resources and expanded its two production facilities.
"Tiger Steel Engineering has recently invested more than Dh8 million ($2.17 million) in acquiring a fully-automated CNC beam line, new automated blasting and painting lines as well as in developing and customising newly-acquired software for the advanced design, estimation and detailing of pre-engineered steel buildings," Nasr elaborates. "Further, highly professional and experienced personnel have recently joined the company."
"To provide its customers with prompt services," Nasr continues, "the company has recently established three new sales offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
"To widen and strengthen its market presence, additional sales offices covering all the Gulf states will be opened by mid-2001. Also, it is in the final process of developing its certified builder network which will consist of qualified contractors, fully staffed and equipped to erect complex steel structures and pre-engineered steel buildings, to execute turnkey projects," says Nasr.
"To enhance pre-sales and post-sales services and to respond promptly to clients' queries, a new section called 'Order Administration' has been formed within its Engineering Department. This section's main role is to coordinate between various head office departments and the sales operation on all technical/commercial matters related to orders booked by the company."
"Tiger Steel Engineering has an affiliation agreement with a reputable American Pre-Engineered Steel Building Company for the exchange of the latest technology in the field," he adds.
