Danube, a leading building materials company in the region, will soon be launching water-saving technology in all its mixers range, incorporating water-saver aerators that help reduce the water pressure.
“By using this new technology, the water flow will be five litres per minute as compared to 22.5 litres per minute,” says Anis Sajan, managing director of the Danube Group.
This follows the recent launch of its luxury water spas.
Commenting on the direction the bathroom sector is moving, he says: “The current bathroom trends see creative new ways of using tiles, graphics, textures and colours. Water-saving faucets are incredibly popular as everyone is getting on board to do their bit to help conserve the earth’s precious natural resources.
“Natural hues like pale greens, ivories and anything warm and neutral are big, and so is texture. Bathroom lighting has started to make its impact, making a statement of its own. What’s more, cleverly-designed, space-saving cabinetry is becoming a must-have in any modern bathroom.”

In line with the growing demand for “green-friendly” products, Danube has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by becoming the first building material company to be FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)-certified in the GCC. “This certification confirms that Danube’s line of products such as wood, MDF (medium density fibreboard), plywood, boards and door core have been manufactured using raw materials harvested from certified sources, controlled wood sources or post-consumer reclaimed sources. Danube is the only company to have the highest range of products under the FSC certification in the GCC,” he says.
Additionally, Danube also offers products like sanitary ware, gypsum products and cement fibre boards that can be used for Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified projects.
Based in the UAE, Danube has more than 25,000 products in stock and offers in-house value added services in all of its multiple set of showrooms across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region and India.
Buildmart, the retail arm of Danube Group, caters to every requirement of its customers providing complete solutions for home interiors. “One of the key features in Buildmart showrooms is our interior design consultancy services at no additional cost. Customers can just walk in and get their interiors designed by professionally trained designers based on their individual taste and preferences selecting products from the widest range at Buildmart,” says Sajan.
He continues: “For our luxury sanitary ware range of products, we provides after-sales service with an unconditional warranty of five, seven and 10 years (depending on the product). Hence, if the customer is not satisfied, we replace the product immediately without queries. We also have in-house professional technicians for quality control.”

Commenting on the company’s plans for 2013, he says: “Danube as a company remains steadfast in meeting the requirements of growing customers and stakeholders and will continue to live up to its reputation of being a provider of world-class materials.”
In line with this, Danube will open more outlets and create a stronger market presence not only in the Middle East but also across the global market in the next five years. “We also plan to open new showrooms to reach our target of 75 showrooms across the Mena region by 2015,” he concludes.
