A rendition of Lusail Marina ... iconic development.

KATARA Hospitality, the international Qatar-based deluxe hospitality company, is planning to build an iconic hotel that is expected to become operational by 2016.

The company said the 800-unit Lusail Marina iconic development aims to be an iconic hospitality symbol of the 21st century. “The stunning structure matches our aspirations to become one of the world’s most recognised hospitality brands,” said Katara Hospitality CEO Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla, while announcing plans for the Qatar-based property at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

The project will take shape in the Marina district of Lusail – the latest urban centre being developed in Qatar. Lusail is located on the Gulf coast, 15 km north of Doha city centre, and will eventually provide accommodation for up to 250,000 people.

The five-star development will house about 800 units comprising hotel rooms, residence apartments, offices, recreational facilities, specialist boutiques and top-class restaurants.

The Lusail Marina towers sport a breathtaking ‘crossed sword’ shape which gracefully intertwine to replicate the Qatar seal.

“The towers will be ideally located for travelling World Cup 2022 football fans, officials and professionals, after which the property will be a perfect getaway for Middle East leisure travellers looking for luxury accommodation,” remarked Al Mulla.
