ALDES Middle East offers Isone fire dampers as an effective and safe solution for fire compartmentation. Conforming to stringent European standards (EN 1366-2), it ensures two-hour fire resistance without any heat transfer and smoke leakage (EIS120 – 500 500 Pa).
Launched on the GCC market in 2009, Isone has been recognised by the UAE Civil Defence as the safest solution in compartmentation, and is recommended for sensitive buildings, according to the UAE National Fire Code (launched in July 2011), according to a spokesman for the company.
The fire dampers have four main advantages over other conventional fire dampers:
• No heat transfer: Isone is constructed with an efficient isolating blade made of refractory material (calcium silicate). This refractory blade – 100 per cent asbestos free – prevents any heat transfer through the damper, thus reducing future fire hazards;
• No smoke leakage: Using an intumescent fire seal, Isone ensures no smoke leakage and proper air-tightness at low and high temperatures, resulting in a safer environment in case of fire;
• Quick activation with no power consumption available: Isone can be provided through an upgradable activation system with a 24 V/48 V electromagnetic tripping device and electric limit switches as well as the mandatory thermal trip or fusible link inside Aldes control box. Moreover, Isone motorised fire dampers can operate with a power cut-off (VM version) or with a power emission (VDS version) which allows no power consumption at all for any low energy building requirements;
• Easy maintenance: To ensure quick and easy maintenance, Aldes control box can be supplied with a reset motor for remote maintenance and inspection purposes. It can be used for any ductwork sizes, including installation in multi-section.
