Mena debut for ‘Made in Korea’

MORE than 300 high-profile exhibitors from Korea will gather at the first-of-its-kind event in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region that will feature a comprehensive showcase of South Korean products, services and technologies.

Made In Korea (MIK), to be held from May 21 to 23 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), in Abu Dhabi, UAE, will gather exhibitors from a wide range of industries including automotive, engineering, metal, hospitality, textile, electrical, chemicals, rubber and plastics, power, healthcare, ICT, media, construction, furniture, fashion and sports.

MIK 2012 will cover 14,000 sq m of exhibition space and will also feature a series of conferences. Ideal Idea Events, the Emirati exhibitions and events company organising MIK 2012, expects the three-day expo to draw more than 25,000 visitors.

Top office designers back on stage

THE Office Exhibition 2012 will see the return of some of the world’s top designers of office furniture, organisers said.
The Middle East’s leading and largest industry platform for office design and fit-out solutions has confirmed the participation of some of the most sought-after brands from Europe, America and the Far East.

The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE, from May 15 to 17, enjoying 30 per cent more floor space than the previous year. With 60 per cent of the show already sold, event organiser dmg :: events says exhibitors are optimistic about the growth opportunities in the region’s commercial fit-out market.

Among the top brands returning to the show is Japanese manufacturer Okamura, widely celebrated for its game-changing Contessa Chair. The US pavilion will this year double in size, with more than 30 brands expected to be represented.

Leading European designers such as Moving SRL and Quadrifoglio from Italy, Guialmi from Portugal, CP from Germany, and Burotime from Turkey will also participate in the event.

Machinery in spotlight

WITH the resurgence in the construction sector, Hardware+Tools Middle East intends to increase its focus on machinery for this year’s edition. A new machinery segment will spotlight the aluminium, wood, steel, plastic and rubber industries and target engineers, contractors, machinery distributors, traders, building materials and manufacturers, to name a few. Considered the leading dedicated trade fair for tools, hardware, materials and machinery, the event will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) in Dubai, UAE, from May 8 to 10.
