A new world-class exhibition complex opened in Sharjah recently. Designed to maximise functionality and flexibility, the Dh200 million ($54.5 million) Expo Centre Sharjah covers a total area of 128,000 sq m. It has been meticulously planned with easy access routes and ample parking space to meet the complete requirements of its participants.
The project adds 20,000 sq m of meetings space comprising four exhibition halls - 4,000 sq m each - a functional central boulevard and 6,000 sq m of equally functional outdoor space as well as 1,300 sq m of conferencing space to the UAE's exhibition industry.
The space is divided into six multi-functional rooms (two of which can be partitioned and shaped to suit any capacity ranging from 20 to 500 participants).
The centre incorporates the latest advances in communication and information technology. It is designed to be the first exhibition complex in the GCC region with such cutting-edge features as wireless data, Internet connectivity, turnstile-controlled registration for visitors, and an automated visitor data management system, including an online lead retrieval system for its participants. In addition, there is an extensive network of built-in floor ducts and trenches that allow easy, hassle-free access to utilities like data connections, electricity, water and compressed air.
The centre is fitted with high-tech audio, visual, theatrical and lighting equipment.
