Talco expects to meet the growing demand in Qatar.

Altaiseer Aluminium Factory (Talco), which established one of the first aluminium extrusion plants in Riyadh in 1994, has drawn up plans to expand its manufacturing facilities this year to meet the growing demand for its services in the region.

The company plans to add a new horizontal coating line by mid-2008, which will have the unique capacity to process up to 9 m long profiles and also process PVDF Kynar coating and conventional powder coatings for varied customer requirements in the region.
“Our current annual production capacity is around 32,000 million tonnes per annum with three extrusion presses imported from Europe. By the end of this year, we plan on increasing this to 42,000 million tonnes per annum with the addition of a new extrusion press, which will have the same high level of manufacturing capacity as our existing ones,” says a company spokesperson.
Talco markets its high-quality products under the trade name of Talco and within a short span of time have already acquired a wide customer base within the kingdom and in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Lebanon and other countries of the Middle East as well as Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia,” he adds.
In the Qatar market, it has supplied aluminium extrusions for a number of projects to many fabrication companies. The major projects that Altaiseer has been involved with include the Sports City Tower for the Asian Games with Reynaers aluminium systems, Al Seal Towers with Alutec, Dolphin Towers with Alutec, Laffan Tower, Al Nasr Twin Tower, Regency Tower and Al Jazeera Tower by Alutec using European Facade systems.
The company continues to maintain its lead in the Saudi Arabian markets with innovation and a rapid response to market demands.
Located in the second industrial area of Riyadh, Altaiseer Aluminium Factory also has a powder coating, wood finish, anodising and thermal break division in addition to its extrusion facilities. The company has taken significant steps towards an integrated manufacturing process with its powder coating division, which is capable of applying polyester and nylon powder coatings that are durable and come in different finishes. This division can process decorative surface finishes with the help of two vertical powder coating lines and one horizontal powder coating line.
The company’s anodising department – which has the trade name of Alco – is equipped with a German anodising line, fully computerised to provide consistency in anodising thickness, colour as well as three different wood finish process. Other than the standard range of colour finishes, the company has the capacity to match any finish required by the client within a plus or minus five per cent range.
Altaiseer’s wood finish department has allowed it to expand its aluminium extrusion range with the Aludecor range of aluminium surface finishes for decorative colours. This is popular in building interior works such as kitchens, wardrobe and furniture where the basic demand is for wood colours, although the company can provide a wide range of any design or colour by using a different type of base coat.
The thermal break division offers thermal break doors and windows systems designed by German engineers, for the building construction markets of the region. The extruded profiles have been joined together by two polyamide strips to prevent the heat and cold from entering inside the building, thus saving energy. These polyamide strips, crimped by a rolling machine, are extremely strong and durable with the space between two profiles variable between 8 m and 16 m, which are suitable for a wide variety of construction needs.
Altaiseer Aluminium Factory has been accredited with the ISO 9001-2000 high quality certifications as well as the DIN 1748 and DIN 17615 specifications. The company’s products have also been certified by Qualicoat for meeting powder coating standards, Qualanod for the process of anodising and the Saudi Arabian Standard Organisation (Saso) for meeting quality specifications within the kingdom.
