Stetter mixers … enhanced for ease of use.

Germany’s manufacturer of concrete mixing equipment, Stetter, has upgraded its range of concrete mixers to benefit users both in terms of economy and user-friendliness.

“Additional kilos were saved in the mixer body by further improvements to drum geometry to a changed mixing spiral arrangement as well as further weight reducing measures,” says a company spokesman. “In conjunction with a lightweight four-axle chassis the truck has now been designed to carry loads of up to 8 cu m. This adds up to a still more economical way of transporting concrete.”
In addition, the company has also combined the substantial advantages of its previous sealing systems in the change of design to its drum-locking cap.
Shutting of the drum outlet combined with a stationary loading funnel has brought about the option of leaving the drum-locking cap open when transporting stiffer materials. This dispenses with the necessity of continually opening and closing the locking cap when loading and unloading.
As a consequence, this results in less wear to the sealing gasket. The levers and cylinders are located in the protected area of the discharge bowl. Damage by crane skips are thus to a large extent excluded. On the other hand a large opening angle makes it easy to keep the locking cap clean.
“More and more concrete mixer vehicles are being equipped with the mixer operation from the driving cab. A radio remote controlled operation system enables the concrete mixer to be handled comfortably from the tail and the driving cab. When desired even the vertical adjustment of the swivel chute of the concrete mixer can be made by the radio remote control,” says the spokesman.
Established in 1934, in Germany’s Ruhr Valley, Schwing has become one of the leading manufacturers of concrete mixing equipment.
The company took over Stetter in the 80s and since then has expanded its operations across the globe.
In addition to the 900 employees at its headquarters in Herne the Schwing Group employs a further 1,500 persons worldwide in production plants in Germany, Austria, the US, Brazil, Russia, China and India.
The company has also established sales and service centres in France, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and Sweden along with representations in more than 100 countries worldwide.
