The materials handling division of Riyadh-based Industrial Materials Organisation (IMO) – a leading distributor and fabricator of material handling and other equipment for the industrial and construction sector in Saudi Arabia – anticipates a significant surge in its turnover figures for this year, following a 55 per cent increase in its turnover last year.

“Judging by our sales performance in the first half of this year, we expect to make even bigger gains this year,” says Allam M Bsiso, manager of the material handling division.
IMO established its material handling division about 10 years ago in close cooperation with some of the world’s leading manufacturers of hoists and cranes, to provide enhanced material handling solutions that would neet the requirements of clients in both the private and government sectors,” says Bsiso.
“The division specialises in equipment such as electric overhead travelling, portal and suspended and slewing jib cranes and monorail systems, with chain or wire rope hoists.
“We have been able to provide integrated solutions in handling and lifting applications, as well as individual systems for the handling of material through project-specific engineering in close interaction with our clients, to enable them to transport their material with ease and reliability,” he adds.
Established in Riyadh in 1965, IMO has played a major role in providing the regional industrial and construction sector with reliable and specialised equipment.
The Riyadh-headquartered company has a sales and distributorship network spread throughout Saudi Arabia including branches in Jeddah, Dammam, Tabuk, Buraidah and Khamis Mushayit.
“We specialise in providing customised orders for our clients, following a careful study and design to meet their specific needs in terms of material handling and flow,” points out Bsiso. “We try to impress upon our clients that the cheapest solution is not always the most suitable one and aim to provide the most cost-effective solution,” he adds.
IMO imports components of a wide range of crane systems from a number of leading manufacturers from Europe. The company’s experienced erection team then fabricates the crane’s main girders, components and steel structure locally, in accordance with high international quality standards and strict safety regulations. IMO also provides full after-sales and optimum customer support with the help of efficient mobile inspection and maintenance units, backed by centralised workshops at its branches in Saudi Arabia.
To ensure that its employees stay abreast of new developments in the field of material handling, the company arranges seminars, training courses and provides extensive printed information. This apart, to ensure that the equipment is correctly operated and thus extend its durability and service life, IMO provides its customers with CD-Roms, detailed literature and technical manuals which includes electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, parts manuals, operation and maintenance instructions.
