The Sennebogen facility.

Akey dealership agreement signed between Masters Crane Company and the German crane manufacturer Sennebogen will see the arrival of 70 more cranes to help raise the magnificent skyscrapers in the UAE and other Gulf states, where numerous billion-dollar projects are either under way or about to begin shortly.

The deal will be for the exclusive dealership of Sennebogen cranes within the GCC countries as well as Yemen and Iraq.
“There’s a huge demand in the construction industry for the 35-tonne 630M and the 40-tonne HPC40 German-manufactured iron giants,” points out Khalid H Pappert, managing director of Masters Crane.
“We will, following the agreement, now focus on our branches in each country where we have the dealership rights,” says Pappert. “We have also noticed a growing interest in our new series of used cranes from the Asian and African continents and we’ve had inquiries from Jordan, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Nepal as well as the Far East with Japan, China and Malaysia.”
Masters Crane is one of the top five crane companies in the UAE and Sennebogen is one of the leading crane manufacturers in the European region and holds under others a market share of more than 50 per cent in Turkey.
Besides its factories in Straubing and Wackersdorf, in Germany where the production of the machines of all series including final control and crane safety certification are carried out, Sennebogen also has one in Hungary where all the cranes’ frames are manufactured.
Now with the opening of another assembly line for Middle East distribution, crane vehicle production has increased to more than 1,000 units a year. With more cranes ready to roll, shorter timeline deliveries – between six to eight months – are ensured in the coming months.
The successful signing of the agreement between the two firms will allow Masters Crane to cater to the growing need for cranes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen and Iraq and be assured of receiving top-quality German engineering equipment.
Masters Crane has established its presence in the emirates for more than 30 years with a network of branches in the GCC states as well as Yemen and Iraq.
Headquartered in Sharjah, Masters Crane was founded in 1972 by Ghanem Saeed Matar Al Suwaidi. It was the first of its kind in dealing with tall cranes and continues to be a family-owned business.
Since May last year, Masters Crane has been operating under a German management. Pappert took over the company as its managing director with an asset of 50 cranes and 105 employees. The reorganisation and the new agreement with Sennebogen has seen the establishment of new departments, an increase in the number of cranes to 130, with 220 employees to handle them.
Although in the past the firm’s main business was in cranes, today it focuses on facility management with specialisation in the areas of demolition, piling, sales and hiring of new and used cranes as well as other heavy transport. Specifically tailored training for crane operators and riggers has seen Masters Crane rise up to European standards of operation and security. All cranes are safety certified and tried and tested periodically.
An efficiently-run workshop ensures smooth transaction of all client  requests. For many years, Masters Crane has also been a Kobelco dealer and sells new cranes and spare parts in the UAE. The year-end will also see Masters Crane in a position to repair and service all cranes that it handles with the help of its German technical staff.
