Hilti, the global leader in systems and solutions for the professional construction sector, has launched a new service which offers its customers total control on the maintenance of Hilti tools while underscoring the quality of the product.

“While Hilti is well known for its excellent tool performance, the brand also stands for outstanding quality of service. Our new innovation – the Hilti Lifetime Service – offers our customers an optimal service package that provides excellent transparency and maximum cost control,” says Hilti CEO’s Pius Baschera.
The worldwide service package for Hilti tools – launched last month – ensures maximum cost control for the industry, he adds.
He elaborates: “Hilti will repair all tools free of charge for six months or one year -- depending on the type of tool – from the date of purchase, and after that, customers pay a maximum of 30 per cent of the new tool list price for repairs over the remaining life of the tool.
“This unique service package underscores the high degree of quality and reliability of all Hilti tools – defects in material and workmanship are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty over the entire lifetime of the tool.”
“The quality of Hilti drilling, demolition, fastening and laser measuring tools is legendary. Hilti tools are made to withstand the tough conditions prevalent on construction sites. But in case of any eventual defect, Hilti Lifetime Service applies,” says Joseph Leo, market segment manager at the Hilti Regional Office for the Middle East and South Asia region.
According to Leo, the salient features of this service include:
• No costs for up to one year: Depending on the type of tool, Hilti will cover all labour and repair costs involved in replacing defective parts, including parts subject to wear and tear, for six months or one year after the date of purchase. Hilti also assumes responsibility for the tool’s functional check, adjustment or calibration, and the safety check, once repair has been carried out, as well as the servicing of the tool when specified by the tool’s service indicator.
• Lifetime repair cost limit: In case of a need to repair after the six months or one-year period comes to an end, customers pay a maximum of 30 per cent of the corresponding list price of a new tool over the entire remaining life of the tool. “Should the cost of a repair be below this limit, the customer will only pay the actual repair cost. In the unexpected case that a repaired tool once again breaks down within three months of a repair, Hilti will fix it for free,” he explains.
• Lifetime manufacturer’s warranty: Hilti repairs or replaces all tools suffering defects from material or workmanship free of charge over the entire lifetime of the tool.
“It is not necessary to show proof of purchase or to pre-register a tool to obtain the Hilti Lifetime Service, in case of a defective tool. The service package is automatically activated by the purchase of the Hilti tool. Also, the annoying and time-consuming process of obtaining cost estimates becomes a thing of the past,” Leo concludes.
Hilti, based in Schaan, Principality of Liechtenstein, supplies the worldwide construction industry with technologically-leading products, systems and services that provide construction with innovative solutions and clear added value. The company employs some 16,000 employees in more than 120 countries, who together generate annual sales of more than CHF3 billion ($2.3 billion).
