Alukbond panels have been used on a range of projects.

Alukbond – a leading Indian manufacturer of aluminium composite panels for curtain walling and cladding applications which exports globally – is set to launch active operations in Qatar next month, following the appointment of a distributor in that market, a company spokesman says.

Alukbond will be maintaining a substantial inventory of its panels – consisting of two aluminium cover sheets and a high mineral and thermo-plastic filled core – in Qatar to speed up the delivery process and the project completion time.
“The company, in the recent past, has transformed many buldings into eye-catching structures through its systems. Behind every shining example of Alukbond’s unique aluminium composite panel system lies the highest quality and extensive engineering expertise,” the spokesman says. “By specifying Alukbond for buildings – be it new or retro-fit – the client is investing in more than 30 years of knowledge-based international production technology backed up by a team of professionals and experienced fabricators dedicated to each project.”
The company uses the E-II process of manufacturing, which is recognised right from the US to Australia and is considered as the future of composite panel technology, he says.
“Alukbond has many advantages over its competition and is fast becoming the preferred choice for builders and developers mainly due to its superior manufacturing technology which ensures a correct mixture of the raw material and thus consistent quality. The fact that the company is ISO-9001:2000 certified also bears testimony to its quest for being a forerunner in the market,” he adds.
Over the years, the company has carried out a number of projects both in the Gulf market and India, including the TV Tower in Kuwait, which is among the latest landmarks in the Kuwait City. Located in the heart of the capital, the tower is refurbished with Alukbond aluminium composite panels. The company supplied about 12,500 sq m of the panelling in different widths and colours to meet the requirements of the project, which was executed by Yousef M Al Shaya Generel Trading and Contracting Company.
Another prestigious project that the company has handled in Kuwait is the Kuwait Naval School. Located close to the seafront in Kuwait City, the school was built for the Kuwaiti Naval Force by Bahman Al Omraniah Company. For the project, Alukbond has supplied over 12,000 sq m of panels, which have to withstand the saline conditions, sand abrasion, ultraviolet (UV) rays and the heat in Kuwait’s arid climate.
“The technical services and product quality provided by Alukbond were above expectations. We are impressed by Alukbond’s fully-computerised operations right from raw material input to the final product,” Ali Bahman, general manager of Bahman Al Omraniah.
Meanwhile in India, one of the recent mega projects featuring Alukbond panels is Kumar IT Park in Pune – built by Kumar Builders, one of the largest builders in that city.
“The project had an initial requirement of 3,000 sq m of aluminium composite panels, which went up to 6,000 sq m. The challenge was to maintain the fast pace of delivery as the builders wanted an early completion. Quality vis-à-vis economics vis-à-vis fast delivery were the criteria which Alukbond successfully met,” the spokesman points out.
