Designed by wa international ... the hotel’s ground

South West Architecture, one of the leading engineering consultants in Qatar, has appointed Dubai-based wa international as interior design consultants for the hotel package of the Al Maha project, which will be operated by the Sofitel group of Accor managed properties.

`The superior Sofitel brand is well known throughout the world. Combining French “chic” with local traditions is a trademark of this prestigious Accor brand.
“It’s great fun working again with the talented and experienced Accor team. We have created some very exciting and unique interiors for the Al Maha Sofitel and are looking forward to the completion of this truly luxurious hote,l” says Claire Craig, design director, wa international.
“In a luxury hotel market dominated by the Anglo-Saxon model, Sofitel insists on applying its specific French touch as a point of difference and has given the task to talented interior designers of wa international, to create a certain art de vivre,” says Christophe Landais, managing director for Accor Middle East.
“We are convinced that all the key elements are combined with Al Maha Sofitel West Bay to create an extremely successful project both financially and image-wise,’’ he adds.
Elaborating on the interiors, Craig says: “The impressive proportions of the entrance lobby and public areas combined with the exquisite finishes and furniture result in a dramatic yet sophisticated ambiance.”
In addition to 300 keys, the hotel will feature a cigar lounge, ballroom, health club and spa facilities and speciality restaurants, which embody the Sofitel spirit and convey its passion of exceptional cuisine within the elegance and stylish interiors.
